Help for a new player?
My BF and I just bought GWs yesterday, and just got it running on his computer tonight. In the event that he likes the game, we will be purchasing a second copy of the game (or a second acess code at any rate) but for the moment, he's trying it.
We got a trial code with the game, and we figured we could open the second account with the trial code, and upgrade it later. Now for the problem.. The trial code is 24 digits, and the game keeps asking for a 25 digit code. Is there a special place to enter a trial code, or did I get a bunk code? |

Are you trying to use the trial code on the same installation that you already use for your main account? That might be one issue...

Nope, 2 different computers, different emails. I already have a PlayNC account, and I was trying to add the code there, but it says it has to be 25 digits.
So I tried going through the game itself, and it says 25 digits aswell. |

They will probalbly just send you a free trial key since they are worthless. Otherwise just save your trial key, the box and the recipt if you still have it...IDK how they will solve this. |

There's actually a thread here at GWG where people donate their unused trial keys. I'm sure you could get one too.
Weird that your key was one character short though. =) |

Some trial keys were produced that were incomplete or indecipherable. Send a report through PlayNC and you will be emailed a usable key.

Make sure the key is actually for guild wars. Sometimes, there are trial keys for some of anets other games and that could be what your trying to use.

Wasn't there a problem similar to this when Nightfall came out with the PC Gamer Gray Giant mini pet?? If I remember correctly, the access code a lot of people got from the magazine was 1 digit too short. I'm not sure how they ended up resolving the issue (whether or not they sent in a support ticket to get a new code, added an extra "0" at the end, or just said "F"-it.).
I would definitely do what everyone else is saying and first go to the GW Support and put in a ticket. If you explain to them your issue, I'm sure they will send you one. If not, there are a lot of nice people that I am sure would be more than willing to let you have their unused one. Just make sure you specify whether or not you need a Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall Buddy Key. - Aldoros of Faydark |
